Jesse Myers

Jesse Myers balances his role as Director of Northwest Pianos Academy of Music with his private piano studio on Capitol Hill and with a faculty teaching position at Holy Names Academy. Jesse began teaching himself piano at age 12 and quickly developed what was a natural ability for improvisation and composition. At age 13 he sought instruction for classical piano and composition. Working through Bowling Green State University's "Creative Arts" program in Ohio and Interlochen's summer music program in Michigan helped prepare Jesse for College level music study at Bowling Green with Virginia Marks. There, Jesse was the recipient of two scholarships, one being the Helen Lakofsky scholarship for an outstanding freshman pianist. Twice, Jesse was a finalist in the Bowling Green's concerto competition–winning the piano division. After receiving his B.M., Jesse moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington and study with Dr. Robin McCabe. He received his Master's in Piano Performance in 2006. Since then Mr. Myers has continued to teach extensively and perform classical recitals throughout the community.
